In September 2022, Apple is set to release iOS 16. There are a number of changes in iOS 16 that will impact digital forensics. Among these are Lockdown Mode, Hidden Assets such as photo albums, Shared Photo Libraries, Text Message Editing, and Text Message Unsend. Text Message Collaboration, and Deleted Text Message Recovery. Each of these issues is currently being researched by CIRE personnel to determine the impact on digital forensics.
